Something on your mind?

Sometimes it helps to talk things through.

You talk.I listen.I notice.I ask.You notice.

Something may become clearer.
What you do with it is up to you.

There Is Your Life. And There Is You, Living It.

There’s what’s happening in your life. And there’s what it’s like for you to live it.

Sometimes it’s useful to give both a little attention.

What Might You Talk About?

  • Your work.
  • Your relationships.
  • How you spend your time.
  • Something you’re looking forward to.
  • Something you keep putting off.
  • A decision you’re considering.
  • Something that’s going well.
  • Something that isn’t.
  • Something you want.
  • Something you don’t quite understand.
  • Or something entirely different.
  • It’s your life.

Why Talk to Someone Else?

You don’t need me in order to think about your life. You can think by yourself.Write things down.Go for a walk.Talk to someone you know.

But sometimes it’s nice to have someone there.Someone with time to listen.Someone who can stay with whatever you want to talk about.Someone who can ask questions. And someone who isn’t part of the life you’re talking about.

The people we know have lives of their own. They may have opinions, worries or a stake in what we decide. Sometimes they’re busy. Sometimes there are things we’d rather talk about with someone else.

For the time you’ve booked, I pay attention with you.

How I Work

We start wherever you are. There’s no questionnaire to complete and nothing you need to prepare. You can bring one thing or twenty things.

You talk.I listen.I notice.I ask.You notice.

If I notice something that seems worth asking about, I ask.You might agree. You might disagree. You might notice something else entirely.

What matters is what becomes clearer to you.

What Might Become Clear?

Sometimes talking helps you see something more clearly.

You might realise there’s something you’d like to move towards.Something worth preserving.Something you’d like to change.Something you’d like to accept.Or something you can simply leave alone.

Not every conversation needs to end in a decision. Not everything needs fixing. Sometimes something becoming clearer is enough.

What you do with what you notice is up to you.

Book Some Time

Book a conversation.Book an hour. Book an afternoon. It’s up to you.

What Became Clear?

I realised I’d been treating a temporary arrangement as permanent.

About Tom

I’ve worked as a counsellor, coach and mentor, talking with business owners, company directors, professionals, students and people simply trying to work something out. We’ve talked about work, relationships, businesses, and what they want from their lives.

I don’t begin with an idea of what your life should look like or what you ought to do with it.My job is to pay attention.

I work privately by phone and video.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to have a problem?

No.

You might have something difficult you want to talk about, but you might equally want to think about something that’s going well, something you’re considering, or simply how life is going.

Do I need to know what I want to talk about?

No.

You can arrive with something very specific or simply start talking and see what comes up.

Do I need to prepare?

No.

There’s nothing to complete beforehand and no homework afterwards.

Will you tell me what to do?

No.

I may ask questions, tell you something I’ve noticed or help you look at different possibilities. You decide what something means and what, if anything, you want to do about it.

What can I expect?

You’re booking an hour of my time and attention.

You choose what you’d like to talk about. I listen, notice and ask questions. Something may become clearer, but I don’t promise a particular insight, decision, change or outcome. I provide the conversation. What you do with it is up to you.

Our conversations are private.

Where do we talk?

Most conversations take place privately by phone or video call.
